Descrizione azienda

Poggio Campana and Il Poggione, lauded for their exposure and the quality of their terrain, are home to the two main plantations of the Cavallini estate vineyard.
Their southern exposure gives strength to the wine, while the rock fragment and mineral content of the soil and its proximity to the sea – which favours a drop in nighttime temperatures - gives it its aromatic complexity.

Il Poggione offers a view over the entire estate, one which is special and absolutely unforgettable.
It is a local tradition that those who work the land and bring it to life also name it. And so, in keeping with the tradition of the Cavallini estate come the names Poggio Campana and Il Poggione (and Pian dell’Olmo, Campo Rossino..).

In keeping with the wish of the vineyards’ founder, the various crus have taken the names of his grandchildren. And so the estate has seen the “birth” of the vineyard Giovanni (Morellino di Scansano DOCG), the vineyard of Lorenzo (Diaccio, Vermentino DOC Maremma Toscana ), that of Leonardo (Pause, Merlot DOC Maremma Toscana), of Filippo, of Ludovica and Vittoria. And in the future, who knows...

During vinification, the utmost care is taken to preserve the integrity and the expression of the fruit: selection of the grape bunches and picking by hand in boxes, natural fermentation using native yeasts, prolonged maceration on the skins.

Roberto and Nicola, two brothers, are the winemakers.
